The Health Clinic

Sherab Ling is equipped with a small dispensary for the monastery and local community that was established in 1977 when the monastery was founded.

It offers consultation, medicine and treatment to the Sherab Ling residents and visitors, as well as serving the local indigenous people.

Talks and presentations are also given to prevent sickness from arising in the first place.

The health worker, Tashi Dhundrup, is a Sherab Ling monk who has studied for 5 years (part time) at the Delek Hospital, Dharamsala and has acquired Community Health Worker certification, and laboratory proficiency.

However the lack of facilities bring many restrictions, and for this reason there is a project to build a clinic to offer isolation for infections cases, quick diagnosis of T.B. (very common among Tibetan refugees), and better care of the community and surrounding area.
