November saw the celebration of the 300th birthday of the Eighth Tai Situpa Chokyi Jugne.

The celebrations lasted for 5 days between November 1st and November 5th. More than 2000 people joined in the celebrations which included teachings on the Mahamudra by Tai Situpa, the consecration of the new Stupa, and a conference on the contributions of the Eighth Tai Situpa.

During the first two days of the celebrations Rinpoche taught the community in both English and Tibetan on Mahamudra. The shrine room was packed to bursting with Monks Nuns and Lay people from all over the world.

Copies of the tapes are available in both English and Tibetan

The morning of the third day started with the consecration of the new Relic Stupa dedicated to the Eighth Tai Situpa.

Members of both the lay and the monastic community worked through the night to ensure that the Stupa was completed on time. The transformation of what only 5 days earlier had been a worksite to a place of tranquillity and beauty is testimony to all involved.

In attendance for the consecration were representatives from all over the world with many visiting Rinpoches and Lamas from the Kagyu family.

The opportunity to open the Exhibition Hall was taken during the celebrations. An exhibition of Lama Dancing photographs by Claire Pullinger  was a great success, in addition Leroy exhibited a modern interpretation of wheel of life which had been presented by Leroy to Tai Situpa.

Also on display was a Mandala which has taken 3 years to produce it will eventually be on permanent display in the main shrine room.
